Keys and gestures
- Drag on the grid
- Draw a selection box.
- Drag inside a selection
- Lift that block and move it. It drops when you click elsewhere.
- Alt / ⌥ + drag inside a selection
- Leave the original behind and move a copy. On a block that is already lifted, this stamps a copy and keeps moving, so you can lay down a row of identical boxes.
- Shift + drag
- Start a fresh selection even on top of one you already have.
- Arrow keys
- Nudge the selected block one cell. With nothing selected, move the caret.
- Shift + arrows
- Resize the selection box.
- Enter or Esc
- Drop the block where it sits.
- Ctrl/⌘ + C X V
- Copy, cut and paste as a rectangle. Pasted text arrives as a floating block you can position.
- Ctrl/⌘ + D
- Duplicate the block in place.
- Ctrl/⌘ + Z
- Undo. Add Shift to redo.
- Ctrl/⌘ + A
- Select everything you have drawn. Add Shift for the whole canvas.
- Delete
- Erase inside the selection.
- Typing
- Overwrites the character at the caret. Nothing reflows.
- Shift + drag with Line
- Straight run instead of an elbow. Alt flips which way the elbow turns.
- Opaque blocks
- On, a moved block carries its own blank space and covers what is underneath. Off, blanks let the drawing below show through.
